Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
The short version. Rose calls your mom and texts you a summary. To do that we keep account details, call transcripts, and the summaries we send. We never sell any of it. We never share conversation content with third parties for their own purposes. We never use it for advertising. You, or your mom, can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Rose is an independent project run by one person, not a company. In this policy, "Rose", "we", and "us" mean that person. We operate the service at roseformom.com and the phone number Rose calls from. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email dankwun@gmail.com and a person will answer.
This policy covers two people: the subscriber (the adult child who signs up and receives summaries) and the participant (the mom Rose calls). Where it matters, we say which one we mean.
What we collect
Account information
- Subscriber name and mobile number, and an email address if you choose to give one.
- If you sign up for texts on roseformom.com: your name, your mobile number, your mom’s first name, and a record of your consent. The record holds the time, the exact wording you agreed to, your IP address, and your browser type.
- Participant first name, phone number, preferred call time and time zone, and the background you choose to share with us (for example, "she loves gardening" or "she lost her husband last year").
- Billing details, only if Rose ever offers a paid plan and you choose it. Card numbers would be handled by our payment processor and never stored on our systems.
Call recordings and transcripts
- Rose's calls, with the subscriber and with the participant, are transcribed, and may be recorded, so that Rose can write the summary, remember what was said on earlier calls, and, over time, assemble the life-story book.
- Rose tells the participant on the first call that she is an AI companion and that the conversation is kept so Rose can remember it. The participant can decline, and the calls stop.
- Call metadata: time, duration, whether the call was answered.
Summary texts
- The summaries we send to the subscriber, and any replies the subscriber sends to Rose by text (for example, updates about mom or a request to change the call time).
Technical information
- Standard web server logs when you visit roseformom.com (IP address, browser type, pages viewed). We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell this data.
How we use it
- To make the calls, write the summaries, and send them to you.
- To help Rose remember earlier conversations so each call picks up where the last one left off.
- To assemble the life-story book for your family.
- To text you about your account: setup, missed calls, and changes to the service.
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To improve how Rose converses. When we do this, we work from de-identified material and never from content that could be tied back to your family.
What we never do
- We never sell your data, your mom's data, or conversation content.
- We never share conversation content with third parties for their own purposes.
- We never use conversation content for advertising, and we never show ads.
- We never let anyone other than the subscriber read a participant's summaries, unless the subscriber adds another family member to the account.
Who helps us run Rose
Like every phone and software service, we rely on a small number of service providers to operate: telephone carriers to place calls and send texts, speech and language processing providers to turn audio into text and generate Rose's conversation and summaries, cloud hosting to store data, and a payment processor for billing. These providers process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us, under contracts that prohibit them from using it for anything else. We do not use providers that train their models on our customers' conversations.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect the safety of a participant or someone else.
How long we keep it
- Transcripts and summaries: for as long as your account is active, so Rose can remember and the book can grow.
- Audio recordings, where kept: 30 days, then deleted. Transcripts remain.
- After you cancel: we keep your data for 30 days in case you come back, then delete it. If you'd like us to delete sooner, ask.
- Consent records for texts: four years after your last text from us, because carriers and the law can require proof that you agreed. They never hold call content.
- The life-story book, if you've asked us to produce it, is yours. We'll send you a copy before anything is deleted.
How to request deletion
Any of these works:
- Email dankwun@gmail.com and tell us the phone number on the account.
- Text DELETE to Rose from the subscriber's mobile number.
- The participant can tell Rose directly, on any call, to stop calling or to forget something she said. Rose will confirm, and we will honor it.
We confirm the request, then delete account information, transcripts, recordings, and summaries within 30 days. We'll tell you when it's done. We may keep minimal records (such as the fact that a number asked not to be called) so that we don't contact you again.
Your mom's rights
The participant did not sign up on a website, so we make her rights simple. On any call she can tell Rose to stop calling, to forget something, or to delete everything. Rose will confirm it with her and we will do it, and we will let the subscriber know the calls have ended. The participant can also call or text the Rose number directly.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Rose is limited to the small number of people who need it to run the service and support you, and that access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, and if we ever learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you promptly.
Children
Rose is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will text subscribers before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
